Yes, it’s Jackie Chan’s notorious “porno” film, except it’s really just a silly comedy that throws a little nudity and light thrusting into the final half hour. ALL IN THE FAMILY has nothing to do with Archie Bunker, but it has a LOT to do with squabbling families, gambling, rickshaw drivers and virginity tests. We’re once again wondering WHATEVER HAPPENED TO VIC DIAZ? in 1965’s OPERATION C.I.A., which features Burt Reynolds as Mark Andrews, an agent sent to Saigon (here played by Thailand) as the Vietnam war is heating up in order to stop an assassination. While this Bond-inspired spy film from director Christian Nyby is pretty uneventful, it features a great supporting villainous turn from Vic Diaz, and some two-fisted fun from a mustache-less Reynolds. LET’S WATCH!

After the death of his mother, a young, thin, slightly gawky man in mourning suddenly finds her back from the grave with a hunger for human flesh and must keep her out-of-sight while simultaneously trying to woo his new girlfriend in a series of comedic sequences. No, it’s NOT Peter Jackson’s DEAD/ALIVE (aka BRAINDEAD), it’s the sometimes startlingly similar ED AND HIS DEAD MOTHER from 1993, which leans a lot heavier on goofy humor and much, much, MUCH lighter on graphic violence. This one has a devoted cult around it, and stars a post-RESERVOIR DOGS Steve Buscemi, as well as Ned Beatty, an incredible John Glover and Jon Gries in supporting roles. LET’S SEE WHAT WE THOUGHT!
